Marmalade Bread & Butter Pudding

Serves 4



  1. Butter the bread and spread with marmalade. Cut into triangles.
  2. Grease 4 large ramekins before arranging the triangles in each, sprinkling sultanas in between each layer of bread (there will be several layers).
  3. To make the custard mixture; whisk the eggs & sugar together until pale. Add the cream & milk, stirring well.
  4. Pour the custard over the bread; it should come about halfway up the ramekin.
  5. Leave to soak for a minimum of half an hour.
  6. Preheat the oven to 190°C / gas mark 5. Bake for 25-35 minutes until the custard is set and the top is golden brown.
  7. Serve hot with cream.
